Spectrion (“we,” “our,” or “the app”) is an AI agent application developed by Spectrion (spectrion.app). This Privacy Policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have regarding your information.

By using Spectrion, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

1.2 Subscription and Payment Data

We do not store credit card numbers or banking details. All payment processing is handled by Stripe and Apple.

1.3 Usage Metrics

We collect limited usage data to enforce subscription limits and improve the service:

1.4 Data Shared with AI Providers

To generate AI responses, the following user data may be sent to third-party AI providers:

This data is sent to one or more of the following providers depending on your configuration:

User Consent: Before any data is shared with third-party AI providers, Spectrion requires your explicit consent. This consent is obtained during onboarding for new users and through a dedicated consent screen for existing users. You must acknowledge and agree to data sharing before the app will send any data to AI providers.

We do not store the content of your messages on our servers. Messages are processed in transit and are not logged or retained. Third-party providers may process and temporarily store your data in accordance with their own privacy policies (see Section 4.1). All third-party AI providers we work with are contractually required to provide protection of your data that is equivalent to or greater than the protections described in this policy.

Important: Health data, contact data, calendar events, and reminder data are processed on-device only and are never transmitted to Spectrion servers or third-party providers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

We do not use your data for advertising, sell your personal information to third parties, or use chat content to train AI models.

3. Data Storage and Security

3.1 Server Infrastructure

Our backend servers are hosted in two regions:

Server-side data is stored in SQLite databases (users, subscriptions, usage logs, Apple transaction records). Ephemeral usage counters are stored in Redis with automatic time-to-live expiration.

3.2 Security Measures

3.3 Data Retention

Data Type Retention Period
Account data (email, authentication) Until account deletion
Subscription records Until account deletion
Usage logs 90 days
Redis counters (rate limits, usage) 7–35 days (auto-expire)
On-device data (conversations, memory, files) Until app deletion

4. Third-Party Services

Spectrion integrates with the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy governing how they handle your data:

4.1 AI Model Providers

Depending on your subscription tier, the type of request, and server load, your messages may be processed by one or more of the following providers:

The specific provider used for a given request is determined automatically by our routing system. We select providers based on quality, availability, and your subscription tier.

When using your own API key with a direct connection, messages go directly from your device to the provider without passing through our servers.

All third-party AI providers listed above maintain their own privacy policies and data protection practices. We only route data to providers that offer protections for user data that are the same as or equal to the protections described in this Privacy Policy, including encryption in transit, limited data retention, and restrictions on using your data for model training without your separate consent to the provider.

4.2 Payment Processing

4.3 Authentication Providers

4.4 Local AI Providers

You may connect Spectrion to locally hosted AI servers (such as Ollama) on your local network. In this configuration, data does not leave your local network and no third-party services are involved.

5. Your Rights and Choices

5.1 Device Permissions

You control all device permissions (camera, microphone, location, contacts, calendar, health, etc.) through iOS Settings. Each permission can be granted or revoked at any time. The app will function with reduced capabilities if permissions are denied.

5.2 Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings > Data > Delete Account within the app. Account deletion permanently removes all your data from our servers, including your profile, usage logs, and subscription records.

5.3 Data Export

You have the right to request a copy of your personal data. Contact us at support@spectrion.app to request a data export.

5.4 Opt Out

You can opt out of non-essential data collection by adjusting settings within the app. You may also use your own API keys to connect directly to LLM providers, bypassing our proxy servers entirely.

5.5 GDPR Rights (European Union)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@spectrion.app. We will respond within 30 days.

6. Children's Privacy

Spectrion is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under the applicable age, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at support@spectrion.app.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by other appropriate means.

Continued use of Spectrion after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
